San Gimigniano

On Saturday we had a field trip to San Gimigniano. Its a tiny walled city that used to be an independent city state in the middle ages until the Florentine army conquered it in 1356. It was the most medieval place I've been so far in that there were a lot of towers and the entire city wound up and down a hill while remaining completely inside the fortified outer wall.
First thing we did was climb the tallest tower and the view was amazing. Next we looked at frescoes painted on the walls of the cathedral in the central square. We weren't allowed to take pictures and all the girls had to wear these disposable things because their sun dresses were too revealing. After that we had lunch in an olive grove with a woman playing the harp. My life is not real. San Gimigniano was all in all an awesome trip.
